Samael Aun WeorThe founder of the contemporary Gnostic movement is Samael Aun Weor. He was born in Colombia on March 6, 1917. From an early age he became interested in the transcendental aspects of life and began a profound search in the various metaphysical schools existing at that time to find answers to the eternal questions: Who are we? What is the purpose of life? Why do we live?
He became a student of the Theosophical Society and the Gnostic-Rosicrucian school of Krumm Heller, eventually researching their entire libraries and lecturing in both schools. Over time, he became familiar with the Masonic tradition, the systems of Gurdjieff, Krishnamurti, Sivananda and others. He studied Kabbalah, Buddhism, Christianity and Alchemy in depth, experiencing each teaching, each theory in himself in order to verify its reality. Then he began a path towards self-knowledge that lead him to the discovery of the different dimensions of nature, the worlds of the inner Being and the synthesis of the esoteric path. Samael Aun Weor passed away on December 24, 1977 in Mexico City. He left a complete system of teachings that unveil, synthesize and provide practical application for the esoteric teachings of all times. The Gnostic teachings have given rise to many associations and enabled many who have dedicated themselves to practice and study to enter the path of the mysteries for themselves, to realize their own Gnosis, their own Being. |
